Great question on the government data restrictions. We work with quite a few different offices that have had this request and are now Qualtrics users. So I imagine something can be worked out. However, I am unfamiliar with what is all involved though and couldn't promise we can do it. I don't know how it was structured from an operational standpoint to make it work for both us and them. Our data security standards are extremely high. Even 3rd party companies perform audits to ensure their clients data is as secure as it can be with us. I know that regardless as reassuring as we may be with our security protocol, if its non-government owned, your superiors will shoot down the idea. I would call in and speak to someone more specifically involved. Or feel free to email me and I can forward it on. CraigD@qualtrics.com (801.374.6682)

The most annoying part of the Facebook profile pictures is the compression used. Any evenly colored area gets totally destroyed. They should leave a PNG or GIF as they are or use a different setting for their compression. It really looks BAD.

Compare this to the Google+ pages and you will see that their quality is absolutely perfect!

So how can we get Facebook to do something about it?

Thanks for the information.

Just a note: for one of my clients, I had to actually leave a 20% margin on each side of the logo to keep it from being cut off (http://www.facebook.com/FreedomSolar).

variable folders - see Variable Sets. I think it does exactly what you want... pity there is no syntax for this (but settings are saved with a file)

@Craig @Greg

Do Qualtrics Labs staff support installing Qualtrics to a local instance, run by the end-user IT staff?

For example: a government institution wanting the ability to store confidential data and policy restrictions forbid storing data on non-government equipment.

Thank you.

Organizing variables: variable sets can go a long way to organize variables into groups. Also the views via names or labels, sorting by file position, alphabetically, or by measurement level all help. Also, using extension commands, you can easily generate macros for selected sets of variables based on many properties, including custom attributes, measurement level, patterns in names (all variables whose name includes "age") etc.

For one of the commenters: FILE HANDLE. You can factor out references to specific locations and files. And programmability makes it easy to organize code into functional modules.

Interface speed: Version 20 has dramatically improved the speed of table rendering - back comparable with what it was in V15. Also a number of fixes to data copy and paste.

A really helpful, clear and easy to understand post thanks. I've just noticed that the image I did for my profile picture isn't too bad when facebook cuts it down for the posts. Perhaps another approach is to do a design within a design, so that what you are left with when its cut down is something you are happy with as well as the larger design for the profile picture.

I agree that SurveyGizmo has many great features, but their support is often slow and inadequate if you have "just" the "Priority Email" support plan. Don't expect prompt replies to your queries for just $50 bucks a month, sadly.

I just switched to 19 recently and am having lots of difficulties with copy and paste. I am trying to enter data into a new variable and then copy it and paste it all the way down, to about 12,000 cases or so. It took me forever to do this yesterday, and then when I got down to the bottom and right clicked to paste, I waited and waited and waited and it never pasted. I just got the hourglass symbol and after an hour I just had to shut it down. I never had this problem in 15.

What is the short cut to copy all the way down to the end? I never needed a short cut in 15. It just zipped right down. But even if I do figure out a short cut, how long is it going to take to paste??
